We present the builders – Petr Čanda and the work of the entire implementation team ICWD
The start of the construction of the future workshop is fast approaching. Every week we will introduce you people who will go to Kashitu in the summer.
Today we introduce you to the main person of the ICWD Implementation Team, a construction designer Petr Čanda. It was he who approached the then chairwomen Monika Höferová and told her that he would develop the project for the secondary school under one condition: it to be implemented. :-)
A group of people later formed around Peter, who came not only from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and began to function as the Implementation Team of the Kashitu High School project. Currently, there are 15 long-term members in the team, and with the construction approaching, their number is still growing.
They have already done a lot of work for the project and that without entitlement to a fee. They will also go to build for free in the summer, some of them even for 2-3 months. They meet twice a month and in the meantime, they work on assigned tasks.
Peter, as a diploma student, developed a building design for the Secondary School in Kashitu and prepared construction drawings. He, together with Lukáš Bejček, entered the parameters for the brick-making machine and then tested it (thanks to this, our brick-making machines are improved, they produce more bricks per hour and the work thus more efficiently). The team prepared and managed website https://www.kashituschool.org/en/ and facebook https://www.facebook.com/stavimeskoluvzambii/. A year ago, they were preparing a fundraising campaign at Donio.cz. Last summer, they submitted an application to UNDP, which was accepted and awarded with the highest support of 40,000 USD. They ensured the purchase and packaging of tools and brick-making mashines… They approached and obtained several partners for the project.
Just the very “dances” around the Kashitu High School project.
You can support their efforts, too, so that they don’t have to haul construction material 36 km on flatbed trucks pulled by cattle from the nearest construction sites. Please support the acquisition of such a reliable means here: https://www.darujme.cz/projekt/1207828?locale=en.
THANK YOU!
