On Saturday 24 Nov. 2012 our Friends of NRC stall visited the music festival VOX in Prague 6 – Dejvice (view photo gallery here)

At the weekend of December 8 – 9, 2012 our stall took part in the traditional Christmas market held on the premises of Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou Castle (view photo gallery here). Those who stopped at our stall could buy creative Christmas cards made by children from St. Bartholomew Parish (Prague 14 – Kyje), candles with Christmas themes made by girl scouts from Prague 20 – Horní Počernice, fashionable earrings made specially for our OS by Marie Michalcová, as well as original ties with mainly African themes that were hand- made by Jana Hoferová. This time, again, hand woven and hand painted textiles brought straight from Zambia were for sale, too.

Both of these events earned us a nice sum of 3.073 CZK (1368 CZK at VOX music festival, 1705 CZK at the Christmas market at Jaroměřice n.R.)

MANY THANKS to all of those who supported our NRC projects by purchasing some of the products on sale in our travelling stall!

(At present we are collecting money to be able to buy the house where NRC is based and to build a high school – more about the project view here)

About a week ago we sent money to New Renato as a contribution to the advance for buying the building, where NRC has its seat, from its present owner – a railroad company. Now we have received the following message from Joseph:

“Well dear I have to tell you that we paid the advance yesterday for the house $1100.
Thanks so much for that. May God bless you.”

In Saturday, 3.11 2012, was in Prague Youth Ball. Thanks to management ADCM Nazareth we were able to attend the event with the kiosk for Zambia.  Visitors of the ball could choose from a selection of Christmas wishes, which made ​​the children from the parish of St. Bartoloměj in Prague Kyje, earrings created Marie Michalcová, ties and bowties painted Jana Höferová. Also available were products that we brought from Zambia. (More photos in the gallery.)

We gain at the ball a total of 1,300, – CZK to support projects of New Renato Community Society.

At the moment we collect money for building which will be used as central Zambian organisation.

The building already exists but we do hire it. It is owned by railway company, which has already one possible buyer, inspite of that they offered building first to New Renato (according to it´s NGO activities) for half price – it makes only CZK 90,000 including surrounding 250 m square.

The building was built at time of english colonialism. After Zambia´s independency on Britain started railway ruin down and railway buildings in Kashit stoped been used.

This fact lately helped New Renato to start their activities there. In this building is at the moment center of leaders of the organisation, also there takes place main part of education activities and together with school and kindergarden are used for acommodation of visitors.

But if they do not collect enough money to buy the building, it will be sold to second buyer, so New Renato will be left without home. At the moment is sent first part of the money from Czech republic to pay deposit.
