Charity concert 2015

On Sunday 24 May 2015 the church of Saint Salvator in Prague 1 hosted the Charity Concert for Kashitu. 86 members of the University of Virginia Singers Choir directed by Michael Slone sang a number of pieces – religious compositions (e.g. two Lenten pieces by Pawel Lukashewski and Ave Maria by Franz Biebl) as well as secular ones, mainly folk songs of different countries (e.g. a jaunty Lithuanian song Tykus, tykus). The greatest applause, however, could be heard after Czech folk songs by Antonín Dvořák and after the song Do You Hear the People Sing from the musical Les Miserables. The concert brought about a sum of 9.419 CZK. The money will be used partly for the fund that was set up to gather the sum necessary for buying to plot where the high school is to be built, and partly for covering our indirect expenses. Many thanks to all of you who came to the concert and supported our goal! And above all – many thanks to the University of Virginia Singers Choir, the hosting parish of Saint Salvator and GM Travel!
